Youths perform well at Ireland A Game

Clondalkin's world tackle record holding underage stars broke onto the international stage and made more history by gracing the field in the first ever rugby international to be played in the Tallaght Stadium.

A Clondalkin under-12 continued the youths mission to put Clon on the international map at half time of a game intended to put nearby Tallaght and the ‘Tallaght Project’ on the national radar.

The ever improving Gordon Park outfit battle hard but were no match for a Mary’s side that threated the 4016 crowd to a half time show with as much style and panache as a Super Bowl equivalent.

But regardless of the result Club Captain Dan Fitzpatrick, who was in attendance in his native Tallaght a place he brought the seniors on an extensive tour off on Tuesday night, claims they continued to do the club proud.

“If the seniors play with that determination and pride every week I would be delighted. The kids have really helped build the profile of the club this year and its great to see them get the reward. I have no doubt by the time they make seniors we will be in the AIL and maybe they will get the chance to make history by being the first players in a Clondalkin stadium.”
