Clondalkin Lose Out on Team of the Year

Clondalkin RFC just lost out to Crumlin FC in the race for The Echo Club of the year award last night (16/12/2010).

The Gordon Park’s sides rise to rugby prominence continues and the club’s efforts and progression were recognised by the local paper and South Dublin County Council as they were nominated for the team award.

Clondalkin enjoyed a land mark term last season registering three cup wins within a week lifting the Lawlor Cup, Towns Plate and a the Spiers Cup as well as boasting the Leinster PRO of the year.

The emerging amateur rugby force also experienced massive growth in a year were other sporting outfits suffered a playing numbers recession.

Clon fielded four seniors men’s teams, a ladies team-that includes Leinster star Rachel Vickers- and a full quota of youth sides.

However despite the Echo's regcognition of a record breaking and land mark term the Club couldn’t pip Crumlin FC for the Team of the Year award.
