Niall Nolan Leinster Update

Clondalkin’s Niall Nolan completed the full 80 minutes as Leinster Youths as they edged a tight encounter against Connacht in the Sportsground on Saturday afternoon to book a place in next weekend's inter-provincial Cup final.

Nolan played on the wing and put in another solid display as Leinster defeated the westerners 6-5 in what was a tight and tense affiair.

Leinster led 3-0 at the interval thanks to a penalty from Ashbourne's Gavin Kennedy and as the action continued in the opening half, both defences were outstanding.

The visitors took that slender advantage into the half-time break but Connacht raced into the lead in the 41st minute with a try from Tadgh Power.

Credit to Leinster who held on in testing conditions and a drop goal in the closing minutes by Edenderry out-half Robert Holt, the man who inspired his club side to a Leinster League quarter final victory over Clon, helped the visitors regain the lead which they held on to.
